What is

Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy. It helps you feel empowered, reflect, gain insight, lessen distress, and learn coping skills and mindfulness. It is suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds. You do not need to be an artist to benefit - Art therapy is about expression not perfection.

When words fail to express our experience, colors, shapes, and textures can convey more. Creating art makes feelings concrete, allowing us to see, hold, and explore them together.

Working with children through adults, I strive to meet you at your comfort level with art-making, ensuring that our sessions unfold in a way that feels right for you. Whether we begin with conversation, creative expression, or a blend of both, I will always take the time to check in and honor what you're feeling that day.

From the American Art Therapy Association: Art therapy uses active art-making, the creative process, and applied psychological theory—within a psychotherapeutic relationship—to enrich the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

Grief Therapy

Finding Meaning and Healing After Loss

Grief touches us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Whether you’ve lost a loved one, experienced a major life change, or are anticipating a loss, you deserve a space to process your pain and begin to find meaning and connection again.

Grief is lifelong and evolves as we do. How we experience and express it can shift at every stage of life. I see my role as a companion in this journey. While our grief doesn’t disappear—because our love doesn’t—healing is possible. Through art-making and conversation, clients often find ways to honor their loved ones, externalize pain, and give shape to memories that feel too heavy to hold alone.

Grief can also be complicated, especially when our relationship was conflicted. Art therapy provides a safe space to explore mixed emotions like sadness, anger, relief, or guilt, holding both the love and the pain as you find personal meaning in the loss.

There is no wrong way to grieve. Together, we’ll create a compassionate space where your story, memories, and healing can unfold at your own pace—whether in person or virtually.

In-Person Therapy

A Grounded Space for Healing

In-person sessions offer a space to slow down, reflect, and connect in a safe and supportive environment. Together, we’ll work through emotions, strengthen coping tools, and develop new ways of relating to your experiences.

Art therapy can easily be integrated into our time together. I keep our space filled with a variety of materials, from drawing and painting to using textiles or clay. Sky is the limit on what supplies we can express with! Using art materials in the room helps you express what’s beneath the surface, giving shape and color to what’s difficult to say out loud.

Many clients find that the combination of talk therapy and art therapy creates a deeper, more embodied path toward healing.

Virtual Therapy

Accessible Support, Wherever You Are

Virtual therapy allows you to receive consistent support from anywhere—ideal for those with busy schedules, limited access to in-person care, or who simply feel more comfortable at home.

Sessions are conducted through a secure online platform and can include both talk therapy and art therapy. With virtual art therapy, we adapt creative methods using simple, accessible materials such as drawing tools, journaling, or collage—allowing you to experience the benefits of creativity in your own space.

Whether we meet in person or online, my approach remains the same: compassionate, creative, and centered on your unique needs.

How does art therapy work virtually?

  • Create art in session and share imagery via video, processing in present time as art is being made

  • Create art in-between sessions. Then with the art therapist, reflect on the process of creating and the finished product

  • Collaborate together with the art therapist online using virtual art tools, ex: video platform’s white board
